Grupo Intercom sponsors the second World Enterprising Initiative Week in Spain
Grupo Intercom supports the enterprising internet spirit by sponsoring the second World Enterprising Initiative Week in Spain.
- For the first time, Grupo Intercom sponsors the second World Enterprising Initiative Week in Spain, which takes place simultaneously in 100 countries and aims to provide entrepreneurs with the tools they need to make their business ideas become a reality, as well as the those needed for growth, socio-economic development and competitiveness in Spain.
- In 2009, seven million people from 108 countries attended this event, which was sponsored by governments and companies from all over the world. Notable guests included British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and business magnates Sir Richard Branson and Michael Dell.
- Barcelona-based Grupo Intercom, the market leader in the creation and development of internet-based businesses in Spain, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and has been voted the best place to work in Catalonia. Out of the 50 Best Places to Work in Spain, Grupo Intercom businesses (of which Softonic.com is one) hold four places.

More than 30,000 people are expected to attend this unique event in Spain. Each of the 233 separate activities, which are organised in different locations around the country, are intended to promote the values of the entrepreneur culture: creativity, innovation and commitment; to inspire young people to transform their ideas into reality; to share knowledge and to create a space for the dialogue between the different agents that participate in a positive circle of business creation. Throughout the week, and all over the world, each partner involved will carry out an activity to promote enterprising initiative. During the Global Entrepreneurship Week, a ranking of notable Spanish entrepreneurs under the age of 40, who are founders of the most profitable companies with the highest number of employees, will be published and the entrepreneurs featured will be acknowledged for their work and contribution to society.
