Finday: A new look and a new General Director

14/01/2011

Finday.com, a social search engine and website ranking, just released a 'new look' with changes in graphic design, navigation structure and functionality.

The search engine, which is powered by Google, still occupies a prominent place in Finday but, in the new version, more importance has been given to Finday’s own website rankings and the views and recommendations of actual website users, helping to answer the surfer's eternal question: 'What’s the best site for ...?' The social element is very important to Finday, which has opened social spaces on Facebook and Twitter, and the content team will react to user comments and provide a regular blog.

Finday’s CEO, Joost Scharrenberg, comments on the changes:

"One of the main objectives of this new version has been to simplify navigation and improve the user experience. The usability expert input has been key.

On the other hand, we are working so that users can more easily participate and also benefit from the contributions of other users. The internet is establishing itself as very social and each day we see a great opportunity to provide search services with a strong social component that helps people find what they want."

Finday founder and Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Softonic, Jaime Jimenez, said:

"The new look and functionality of Finday positions us even higher as a useful and simple service, which provides a differential value only to clarify the position of any site in their ranking, while the user is searching or browsing."

On the new challenges facing Finday, Jaime said:

"We worked for months to have a product to be proud of and we are convinced of its value. Now, with the addition of Joost Scharrenberg as CEO, we will make Finday a real alternative to what currently exists. Joost is a professional with 15 years experience leading international businesses on the Internet, an expert on online communities and social media. Both Grupo Intercom and Finday are very pleased to have someone of his level to lead Finday’s future growth. "

Finday is located in Sant Cugat del Vallés, Barcelona. Grupo Intercom is a leader in Spain in the creation and development of internet-related businesses – and has launched many successful companies, including Infojobs.net, Softonic.com and Emagister.com.
